Do you laugh enough?

If you are laughing now about this title, or rather about what it encompasses, this newsletter is for you. You might not laugh enough or you might laugh only in frustration.

The newspapers are full of negative news, the guests in TV discussions debate serious problems, cost cuts, restructurings (the 5th generation), and even though the world didn’t end on 21 December, the atmosphere of doom and gloom seems to be well at home in the media.

How do you deal with it? Does it affect your sense of happiness? And let’s be clear: sarcasm doesn’t count as positive humor!

A good laugh can work like a magic pill against stress. It can diffuse difficult situations and make way for constructive solutions. It can relax a tense body of a partner and in this way restore physical closeness. 

If laughter is such a super-cocktail of positive hormones, feelings and changes, how often do you treat yourself and the people around you to this pleasure?

Ask yourself these questions:

  • Do I laugh enough in my job?
  • Do I laugh enough with my family?
  • Do I laugh enough with my friends?
  • Do I laugh enough in my life?

If not, you should try to do everything that comes to mind, even if it sounds silly, in order to make more room for fun. Laugh again like you did when you were a child, until your stomach hurts!
