A sobering thought: what if, right at this very moment, I am living up to my full potential?

Are you flexible and adaptable? Then please read on …
A couple of days ago I witnesses an interesting discussion:
“Where should we go now? I don’t care. Would you prefer to go to the city or into nature? Both are fine with me, I am open. Perfect, then we will take a long walk in the woods!
… oh boy, we only ever go for walks, the main thing is that we always do what you enjoy.
“
This person is proud how flexible and adaptive she is. On close inspection, however, this is not true. This person simply does not make decisions! You are not flexible when you bend to someone else’s decisions, but rather when you decide to carry this decision as well.
So, how do you behave when you have a choice (…by the way, you always have a choice!)? Do you decide, do you join along, or do you bend to someone else’s decisions?
Often it is just a habit to answer “I don’t care”. Often we are simply too lazy to think about it or don’t think it is that important. Well, perhaps it is not that important to know which restaurant you will go to today, but to know what you really want is important. It is like a muscle that becomes weaker and weaker when we don’t use it. Is there any reason that speaks against giving a clear answer when asked: would you rather like coffee or tea? Even if both would be ok, why would you not simply make a decision and be happy to receive that which you actually want, or that for which you decided. (You also make it easier for the person asking the question!). You can still be flexible if you answer: “Actually I would prefer having a hot chocolate” - and that variation is not available.
Set yourself the goal this week to simply always make decisions … the big ones and the many small ones. If it really doesn’t matter, still make a decision and strike the saying “I don’t care” from your vocabulary.

Maybe we are able to influence or read our situations in a much stronger level then we are currently aware off … take a look at this magical movie!
Each decision we make, each action we take, is born out of an intention.

All my life, whenever it comes time to make a decision, I make it and forget about it.
The first step to getting the things you want out of life is this: Decide what you want.
