Self-Talk

2015-06-08 10:00 (comments: 0)

What exactly are soliloquies? Discussions that I have with myself. Who am I then? The “I” or the “SELF”? Am I more than just one personality? It is really interesting to get to the bottom of this. When one has discovered the true self, the real being and is no longer misaligned or wrongly adjusted, then one lives authentically. One is at peace with oneself. One lives totally in the moment without a bias as to how one should be but rather experiencing that which one is.

Who are you when you are not authentic? Well, one could say that you are role playing. One is daughter, father, creative artist, looser, or the one that always solves all problems. One meets expectations and supports viewpoints that are coupled to the specific role. The soliloquies are thus often discussions about how well one is living up to the particular role.

How do I then recognize when my authentic self is talking and when my „role playing“ is talking? Voices that occur in the head don’t belong to our true self. Our true self talks from the heart and files us with feelings of love and authenticity without criticizing. The first step in realizing the roles we play, is to observe with open eyes and ears. It is about as if one is walking in the forest at home and no longer perceiving individual trees. But then flying to a foreign country and walking in the woods we are astonished at the different individual trees and discover all sorts of interesting details. Would
it not be fantastic if we would pay such attention to details about ourselves or the people in our immediate environment rather than having preconceptions on how they should be? I wish you curiosity and an open mind and perhaps you will find your authentic self!?
