Reflections of the Week

The ultimate three possibilities that you have!

2010-05-23 21:10 (comments: 1)

As described last week, the moment in which you take on 100% self responsibility, you also have 100% freedom of choice. No complaining, no accusations nor being a victim. It is truly a strong position when you understand that you always have choice! As soon as you understand that you have a choice, you can more easily assess the consequences and then make a well grounded decision. Creating the motivation to decide for one of the three possibilities is done by asking yourself the following question: what will it cost to leave everything as it is, and undertake nothing?

So, what are the three possibilities that we always have?

LOVE ITthis works through a change in perspective.

You can focus on the “glass as half empty” or you can see the glass as half full … there are always two perspectives! If my job is not that challenging and, at the moment, I can’t change that, then I will not be so tired in the evening and have more energy to take on private interests. If I can’t spend enough time with my partner at the moment because he is always gone, then I also have more time for myself and my own interests, etc.

CHANGE ITwhat don’t you like, how could it be better, change it!

I can always change something or seek an improvement through my own initiative, by indicating my capabilities and have a career discussion with my supervisor. I can also plan regular rendezvous´ with my partner and enter them in his calendar as important meetings, etc. And, if all else fails, I still have the third possibility!

LEAVE IT if neither one of the first two possibilities works, or are unsuitable, then I always have the possibility to leave it.

We always have the choice to leave it! Honestly, think about the possible consequences – what is the worst that could happen if I just leave it now? I have to look for a new job – how good are my chances and what would it cost by doing nothing? What would it cost if I don’t leave? How upset, perhaps even depressed or simply just unhappy will I be if I stay in the same situation for the next 10 years? How does my life look when I find something more fitting?

Now, take a moment and look at the areas in your life in which you are unhappy, feel like a victim, or are trying to suppress something. Which of the three ultimate possibilities do you choose, to make a decision in order to improve the situation? It is solely up to you to form your life as you see fit!

Dear Desireé
I absolutely agree with your idea of 3 ultimate choices!
They are rather easy to follow, if you mind is flexible and your heart is brave..otherwise one won't be able to choose one of them.

I always enjoy reading your weekly letters and looking forward to a new one at the end of the week. It gives me chance to reflect on life.

Hope to see you soon at TM.
Warm regards

Marina
